Khelo India Scheme aims to build a strong sports ecosystem in India at the grassroots level. Under the Talent Identification component, 1,000 outstanding young athletes in priority sports disciplines are identified every year. Selected athletes receive an annual financial scholarship of ₹5 Lakh for 8 consecutive years to cover residential academy fees, diet, training equipment, competition exposure, and education.

•Young sports talents aged between 8 and 18 years demonstrating exceptional sporting ability
•Participants in Khelo India Youth Games, School Games, or Recognized National Championships
